The TruePort security scanners from a startup named Xonar got their U.S. professional stadium debut last month, when the Xonar systems were deployed at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, home of Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

Xonar Technology Inc. has secured $5 million in Series A-4 funding for its AI-powered TruePort weapons detection system, which is set to launch in early 2024 after three years of R&D. Led by CEO Hans Hufschmid, who previously sold GlobeOp Financial Services for $1 billion, the company has already deployed systems in Florida venues and is expanding to pilot programs at major east coast arenas.
